This new festival celebrates Charles Rennie Mackintosh - the Scottish architect, designer and artist. Along with his wife, Margaret Macdonald, her sister Frances Macdonald and Herbert McNair, he made up the group known as The Glasgow Four, who played a key role in the Arts and Crafts Movement and The Glasgow Style.

Mackintosh is the designer of some of Glasgow's most impresssive and much loved buildings including the Glasgow School of Art. The city's museums have popular permanent exhibitions of the designs of Mackintosh and his fellow artists, however, the festival crosses genres and events will include theatre, music, design and comedy.

For those who like quiet contemplation there will be an evening of Mackintosh-inspired classical music, or you can opt to immerse yourself in gentle, therapeutic sounds inside one of his buildings. There will alo be guided walks to some lesser-known Mackintosh locations.

For the more energetic there are artistic workshops and fun-filled performances. Even food lovers will have the chance to explore Mackintosh?s Italian Journey ? together with appropriate regional dishes.

Whether you are already a Mackintosh aficionado or a newcomer, the Festival promises a chance to learn something new about Mackintosh and about our own relationship with the city.
