A Play a Pie and a Pint regrets to announce that Richard Wilson has had to withdraw from Astonishing Archie because of ill health. Richard is having a minor operation which requires him to have a period of recuperation. We know all our audiences will join with us in wishing him the speediest and fullest recovery.
Kenny Ireland will now join the cast of Bill Paterson and Sharon Small. Kenny is currently starring as the swinger Donald in the ITV drama Benidorm. Kenny has had a long and established career in theatre, televisiona and film. For ten years he was the Artistic Director of the Royal Lyceum theatre, Edinburgh. TV roles include media tycoon Benjamin Landless in House of Cards with Ian Richardson and regular appearances in Victoria Wood As Seen On TV. His films include Bill Forsyth's Local Hero.
Most recently Kenny has directed a highly successful production of Robin jenkins' great Scottish novel The Cone Gatherers, adapted by Peter Arnott which is on a national Tour
