Live local, love local

Gibson Street Gala 2010 boasts its most exciting year yet. The Sunday Street festival coming into its 6th year has a brilliant line up ahead with the likes of High Heels & The Souls, Glasgow Capoeira and the fantastic Esperanza SKA band all playing on the main stage. The local Highland dance school will also be performing along with the Kings Park Brass band blaring out some Funky Jazz.

The Gala has an abundance of stalls to rummage through including its second year of Artfusion. West Bank Quadrant will be especially dedicated to a collection of independent artists of all styles and materials, local and international.

Gibson Streets very own back court will house the Tchai-Ovna tea tent and an acoustic area with sets from the beautiful Emma's Imagination, the unique Hip Hop and Jazz array of Dbass and the high energy sounds of Forgotten Works. The court will also feature a Masseurs Hexagon to get you in the mood, a Kite making workshop and a story telling group with some Seeds of Thought Poetry to top it off.

For the Children the Gala has a wealth of free and exciting interactive activities including the Glasgow Science Centre, creative dance and drumming workshops and some instrumental and singing activities. With a mobile zoo of snakes and spiders, Bubbles the Clown and a climbing wall, the kids will surely be entertained all day long.

Gibson Street Gala will be open between 12-6 on Sunday June 20.
