Welcome To Glasgow - information for migrant workers from the A8 states.

Glasgow City Council has develped a 'Welcome To Glasgow Information Pack, which provides basic information about migrant workers rights and responsibilities whilst living and working in Glasgow including:

This includes information about:

  • finding work;
  • rights at work;
  • finding accommodation;
  • living in the community;
  • safety (fire safety, police, crime and driving)
  • health;
  • right to stay in the UK.

The packs are intended to be a useful tool for migrant workers helping them to settle and work in our city and are available to download in Slovakian, Polish and English from Glasgow City Council

Polish Community Church Services in St Simon's and St Peter's Partick

St Simon's in Partick has traditionally served the Polish Community in Partick, however, to cater for the increase in Polish members of the congregation, Polish masses are now also taking place in St Peter's, Hyndland Street, Partick:
Times of masses in Partick from 2nd December, 2007:
St Peter's - Saturday 6 pm (vigil) and Sunday 12 noon are in English, Sunday 10 am and 6 pm in Polish
St Simon's - Saturday 6 pm (vigil) and Sunday 12 noon are in Polish,
Sunday - 10 am and 6 pm in English.
