Emily Chappell and her 'Shapeshifters' collection
Commencing Wednesday, 05 August 2009 until end of September
Join us for drinks, nibbles and good vibes this Wednesday (5th August) at 7pm as we exhibit the work of another local artist - Emily Chappell and her 'Shapeshifters' collection.
Emily's style is hand drawn and fluctuates between the dreamlike and sometimes nightmarish. It is highly expressive, and streaming with hyper-real colours. The ideas illustrated are intuitive and primitive in style, (almost like contemporary cave paintings), focusing on our human experiences, behaviours and feelings. There is also a love of pattern and expression over that of photographic realism.

Born in Derry, N.Ireland and currently living in Scotland, John Deery has always had a passion for Art and takes it with him wherever he goes. He enjoys working in a variety of media, from watercolour to oils, although most of my work now features acrylic paint and mixed media. His passion for travel and adventure has given John a love of landscapes, and the world's ever changing and wildly varied surfaces are the focus of much of his work. He currently paints, plays music and works as an art teacher in Glasgow.
