St Simon's Restoration Fund

Photo: Saint Simon Chapel.St. Simons Catholic Church dates back to 1858, the third oldest Catholic Church in Glasgow. It is of significant historical interest and has strong connections with Glasgow's Polish Community.

In recognition of the importance of St Simon's, Historic Scotland have granted £200,000 towards the much needed restoration of the church roof. However, the final estimated bill is £325 so more money is needed to complete the necessary work.

One way of raising this money will be through the sale of the 12,000 old slates from the roof. Slate vouchers are on sale at £1 each.

Many people in Glasgow, of all demoninations, or who are not religious, have a soft spot for this little church and all contributions to aid the building work will be much appreciated.
