Glasgow Cinema: The Grand Budapest Hotel, Glasgow Film Theatre 7 – 20 March
The Grand Budapest Hotel15
Friday 7–Thursday 20 March
Glasgow Film Theagre, 12 Rose Street
The Grand Budapest Hotel is one of Wes Anderson’s most ambitious creations, reflecting the political turmoil and social upheaval of Europe between the wars through the hectic lives of the staff and guests at one of the most famous hotels on the continent. There is a hint of the bittersweet romanticism of Ernst Lubitsch, the freewheeling comedy of the Marx Brothers and the melancholy of a Dostoevsky novel all wrapped in the gorgeous pr oduction design and attention to detail that have become Anderson trademarks.
