Jean de Florette + Manon des Sources (Double-bill) – 50th Anniversary Screening GFT
Sunday 5 May, 2024 2.30 p.m.
Since its inception, GFT has been the destination to watch foreign language films in Glasgow, and the anniversary programme will give audiences a chance to revisit some of our greatest international hits. Jean de Florette and Manon des Sources are two of the most popular French films of all time and have been regular audience favourites at GFT. We invite fans to appreciate them anew in crisp 4K at a special Double-Bill screening.
In Jean de Florette, a gluttonous landowner and his nephew scheme to obstruct the only water source of a property in order to bankrupt the landlord and force him to sell. In Manon de Sources, Manon, a young shepherdess, vows to take revenge on the men responsible for the death of her father. However, things take an unexpected turn when she cuts off the village water supply.
Tickets for the anniversary programme of films go on sale at 12pm (noon) on Wednesday 3 April from glasgowfilm.org and the GFT Box Office 0141 332 6535
