*The Phola Tree Of Life Methodology, developed in South Africa, is a culturally sensitive system which uses drawing and conversation to bring people’s “second story’ to the fore. Instead of focusing on a person’s challenges, the Tree Of Life shines a light on their strengths. It recognises that we all live in community and have skills and customs that give us peace and support.
Musicians Bios:
Ray Aggs is a multi instrumentalist and songwriter based in Glasgow. Aggs, a prolific specialist in euphoric post-punk, has achieved international acclaim with collaborative touring projects Trash Kit, Shopping and Sacred Paws. Creating zines and co-ordinating workshops that encourage women, non-binary people, and people of colour to form bands, Aggs has galvanised the DIY scene in the UK. Ray also led monthly POC trad music sessions at Woodlands Community over the last couple of years and has volunteered with the Anti-Racist Library and wider outreach.
Suzanne Houston is a Glasgow based multi instrumentalist specialising in Scottish folk music. She is a stalwart of the city’s vibrant music scene, and her performing career has taken her across Europe. Her teaching experience includes years of lecturing musicianship at RCS, with a particular love of harmonic theory. Suzanne ran the Woodland Parents and Carers Community Choir at Woodlands Community Garden and has been involved in Woodlands’ Family groups.
