Sweet Bean GFT 5 – 7 August, 2016

Sweet Bean (PG)
A feel-good food movie
Friday 5 – Sunday 7 August
Running time: 1h53m
Sentarô, a lonely Japanese baker hires an eccentric 76-year-old woman to be his new assistant, and soon learns that she has a wonderful recipe for red bean paste. Sentarô’s business begins to thrive and the pair’s relationship develops beyond their mutual appreciation of Japanese confectionary. However, their partnership is threatened when it’s revealed the elderly woman is suffering from a severe illness. A beautiful and delicate fable that is both a feel good food movie and moving drama.
