On 15th February 2003, more than 30 million people, in over 800 cities across the world, protested against the impending war on Iraq – a war that served as a pretext to geo-political gain for the superpowers.
Produced and directed by Amir Amirani, We Are Many tells the story of the largest global demonstration in history and reported to have inspired the recent so-called Arab spring.
But has this mass demonstration been a failure? Had it exposed a weakness in our democracy? Has it paved the way to a new social change?
The film features testimony from a list of high-profile activists, politicians, organisers and actors. The list includes actor Mark Rylance, musician Damon Albarn and Prof. Naom Chomsky, amongst many others. The film pays a tribute to the power of the people and vital lessons against present and future wars and the devastation they cause.
This screening will be followed by Q&A with Amir Amirani and a panel of speakers.
