Taking their cue from internationally renowned author and creative writing tutor, Carolyn Jess-Cooke, Glasgow Uni graduate, Glasgow University Creative Writing students have organised a student-oriented FRINGE literary festival for writing in the time of Coronavirus.
Much the same as its mother festival, goals are to:
(a) prevent loneliness
(b) champion connectivity and community amidst social distancing
c) celebrate writing and reading as tools to achieve both.
“As creative writing students, we have much to share and it is vital to nurture our community now more than ever.”

Deep Dive Workshops – 17 May at 2 p.m. – 3/30 p.m.
About the Event
In this series, doctoral students will share with you the deeper aspects of creative writing research and practice they’ve experienced on their journey through the University of Glasgow’s DFA program.
Doctoral researchers Sally Gales and Gillian Shirreffs discuss the way they’ve used man-made creations (from ruins to books) to inspire both their creative fiction and non-fiction writings. They will introduce participants to the impact everyday objects and spaces can have on our creative practice and lead them through several writing prompts and readings.
