SCOTT GIBSON – LIFE AFTER DEATH
Wednesday 26th October, 2016
Doors Open:19:30 | Show Begins:20:30
One summer, Scott Gibson returned from a friend’s stag weekend in Blackpool and his brain exploded – he had suffered a massive brain haemorrhage. So, Scott did what any self-respecting Glaswegian man would do: he went back to bed and slept for 4 days. Eventually waking up to discover he was now blind in one eye and – worse! – still had a thumping headache.
Life After Death tells the story of the three weeks that changed Scott’s life forever. From Blackpool to Glasgow to the Neurology Capital of Europe (…Govan!), Scott Gibson’s debut Fringe hour is at once a darkly hysterical and inspiring show, delivered with the trademark filthy charisma that Scott has rapidly become renowned for. Life After Death is a tale of love and pain, and fear and hope. It’s about overcoming insurmountable odds, and how comedy can bring you back to life.
Gibson has successfully made a name for himself as one of the great emerging Scottish comics in recent years. Following two sold-out Glasgow International Comedy Festival performances, Gibson is also known as Resident MC for BBC Introduces in Scotland, and has supported some of the biggest names in comedy on their national tours, from Des Clarke and Daniel Sloss, to Kevin Bridges and Frankie Boyle, who describes Scott as a “natural, gifted, and unapologetic storyteller”. Join Gibson for his Edinburgh Festival Fringe show as he leads his audience down a path few dare to tread, and discover how he found life after death.
‘Life After Death is a hilarious, thoughtful and uplifting show, delivered with the boldness and filth that Scott Gibson does so well’ Comedy Unit
‘The best act to emerge from Scotland in years’ Des Clarke
‘On course to be one of the greats’ Tom Stade
