Sailm nan Daoine (Psalms of the People)- Glasgow Film Festival 2026

Sailm nan Douaine

Sunday 1 March (3.45 p.m.) & Monday 2 March (2 p.m.)

Glasgow Film Theatre, 12 Rose Street, Glasgow G3 6RB

Join Scottish Gaelic psalm precentor Rob MacNeacail on an uplifting musical journey from his Carlops singing group in the Borders across Scotland and Ireland as he celebrates the cultural heritage of psalm singing. In addition to lifting his voice alongside experienced congregations on the Scottish islands and learning about the related Irish traditions, he also encourages non-Gaelic speaking novices to take up the pursuit. Documentarian Jack Archer (Bill Douglas: My Best Friend) returns to GFF with this heartwarming film that finds moments of poignancy and joy in MacNeacail’s personal story, as communities old and new come together through music.

English and Gaelic with English subtitles.

The screening of Sailm nan Daoine (Psalms of the People) on 1 March will be followed by a Q&A with director Jack Archer and subject Rob MacNeacail.
