MCR Pathways: Can You Spare An Hour and Change A Young Person’s Life?

Tuesday 4th April, 2023 11 a.m. – 11.30 a.m.
Online Event, University of Glasgow
Could you ‘Share an Hour’ and change a young person’s life?
MCR Pathways is a national, award-winning mentoring programme. Our vision is that every care-experienced young person, or those who have experienced disadvantage, gets the same education outcomes, career opportunities and life chances as every other young person. Our school-based mentoring programme supports young people to find, grow and use their talents. We help young people to build confidence, broaden aspirations and explore their future pathways. MCR’s Young Talent programme helps young people progress to positive post-school destinations such as college, university or employment.
Volunteer mentors spend one hour a week listening to and encouraging their young person. We need mentors from all walks of life. The only qualification you need to be a mentor is the desire to help and be there. Our mentors help the young person they are matched with, to realise their full potential and be empowered with the confidence and belief to make it happen.
How to get involved?
The University of Glasgow and MCR Pathways are hosting an ONLINE information session on the 4 April, 11-11.30am.
At this short session, you’ll have the opportunity to meet the team, find more about the young people we support and hear about the difference you can make by signing up to become a mentor.
The session will take around 30 minutes with time at the end for any questions.
