Gucci at Mika and Me review by Pat Byrne
On the 6th October, 2022, Gucci took over Mika and Me, Eyewear Studio in Glasgow West End, to show the full, complete glasses and sunglasses collections for 2023 by Gucci, Saint Laurent & Balenciaga.

Customers very rarely get to see the full Gucci collection so this is was a unique and fantastic opportunity to view everything in one place. To add to the enjoyment there was gorgeous, live, harp music from Ciorstaidh Beaton, Prosecco and 20% off the fabulous frames.

Barry and Victoria Hutcheon, the proprietors, made everyone very welcome. I went along with my friend Frances and we enjoyed talking to the pair, who clearly get a lot of pleasure from running the eye studio, which is attracting a very loyal following. It was interesting hearing about the inspiration behind the shop including Barry’s time living in Japan, where it’s not uncommon for people to own a dozen pairs of glasses.

The glasses on show were really sensational and the atmosphere was very relaxed with people chatting and asking each others’ opinion regarding which glasses best suited them. I got quite carried away and think I might need a whole new wardrobe plus a holiday in Juan le Pins to show off my new Balenciaga specs.

Mika and Me is a lovely shop with a fantastic range of frames, including Gucci of course, and there you will find a different approach to eyewear.
