‘exciting new or recent work by the ever popular GSWA…‘
The Glasgow Society of Women Artists, originally called the Glasgow Society of Lady Artists, was established in 1882 by eight women artists and art teachers. All of the founding members had studied at Glasgow School of Art. Current membership of the Society however, is drawn from a wide geographical spread across Scotland.
Over 100 works by members of the Glasgow Society of Women Artists can be seen in this year’s exhibition at the Lillie Art Gallery. These works range from oil paintings and watercolours, to ceramics, glass and jewellery.
