Project Ability is delighted to present Going for Gold: Young Talent 2026, an annual exhibition celebrating the creativity, imagination and artistic achievements of the young artists who take part in the charity’s Saturday Create workshops.
Opening 25th July at Project Ability’s gallery in Trongate 103, the exhibition showcases work by more than 40 young artists aged 8+ with learning disabilities, autism and complex support needs. Many of the exhibiting artists have been developing their creative practice at Project Ability for years, supported by experienced tutors who encourage them to explore their own ideas, experiment with new techniques and build confidence through art.

Inspired by Glasgow hosting the 2026 Commonwealth Games, this year’s exhibition explores the theme of sport through the unique perspectives of the young artists. Their work captures the excitement, memories and personal connections that sport inspires, from energetic team games and swimming to archery and darts. Visitors may also spot a colourful artistic interpretation of Finnie, the official Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games mascot.
Young Talent highlights the importance of providing inclusive opportunities for disabled children and young people to express themselves creatively, while celebrating the individuality, imagination and talent of every exhibiting artist.
