Broomhill Shopping Centre has got a Co-op

Co-op confirms it will trade from substantially upgraded site at Broomhill Shopping Centre

Broomhill Shopping Centre, at the heart of one of the West End of Glasgow’s most sought-after residential districts, has a new retail tenant with the Co-op confirming that it will take over the much-missed grocery and convenience store pitch previously occupied by Spar.

Neil Livingstone, of Douglas Dickson Property Management, agents for the centre’s landlords, said: “It has taken a number of months to come to a conclusion but we are delighted to announce that the Co-op has taken over the site previously operated by Spar and re-opened the new retail unit yesterday (Thursday 24th March) which will be of great value to the local community.”

In addition, Broomhill Shopping Centre is now home to an NHS dental practice, Buttercup 7 Day Dental, a surgery run by husband and wife dental team Angela and Gerwyn Rowlands. They took over the premises formerly occupied by Betfred and, after an extensive and thoughtful refit, opened their doors this week (7th March, 2016).

The Centre, which was built in the sixties and has been managed by Mr Livingstone’s firm for the past 30 years, is home to national chains such as Boots, Greggs, Barnardo’s and Papa John’s as well as local enterprises such as The Broomhill Bar and Restaurant, Po’Boyz American Diner, Broomhill Laundrette and Dry Cleaners and Stuart Boyd newsagents.
