Eating Out in the West End of Glasgow:Thai
Thai Fountain - 2 Woodside Crescent, G3. 0141 332 1599
Glasgow's first Thai restaurant. Delicate, deliciously fragant dishes. Good service in attractive surroundings.Open Mon- Sun. 12.00 - 2.15 p.m. and evenings 5.30 - 11.00 p.m. (££).Business lunch. £7.80.
Thai Siam - 1191 Argyle Street, Finnieston. 229 1191.
Yet, to establish how good this restaurant might be. Comments welcome. We visited the Thai on Argyle Street, ordered the seafood casserolle which according to the menu had prawns, crab, scallops, mussels, and squid. I explained that I was allergic to squid and asked that they left it out, not only did I get squid (in fact it was mainly squid ) imagine my surprise to find that the crab was crab sticks!! when I called the waitress over and explained that crab sticks were not crab she shrugged and offered to take them out. I had the same reaction with the squid.
The starters were good but the main courses and the service were BAD. Definitely not a place to go if you want Thai food.
