If you loved Edgar Wright’s new documentary, The Sparks Brothers, you won’t want to miss Annette. Director Leos Carax (in his English-language debut) collaborated with Ron Mael and Russell Mael of Sparks on the screenplay, from original story, music and songs created by the band.
Henry (Adam Driver) is a stand-up comedian with a fierce sense of humour who falls in love with Ann (Marion Cotillard), a world-renowned opera singer. Under the public spotlight, they form a passionate and glamorous couple. With the birth of their first child – a mysterious little girl with a unique gift and an exceptional destiny – their lives are turned upside down.
