An evening event dedicated to the work of renowned Scottish writer and artist Alasdair Gray (1934–2019).
The current exhibition Alasdair Gray’s ‘Lanark’: A World Made on Paper (running until 2 October, 2022) marks the 40th anniversary of the publication of Gray’s first novel, Lanark: A Life in Four Books. Published in 1981, it is considered to be one of the greatest masterpieces of 20th-century Scottish literature.
Come along to Hunterian Art Gallery after hours to hear all about the artist and writer from experts on his practice. Poet and Professor of Scottish Literature Alan Riach, Custodian of the Alasdair Gray archive Sorcha Dallas and Deputy Director of The Hunterian Mungo Campbell will be in discussion about Lanark and how the exhibition came to be.
