The newly opened Felix and Oscar's in Otago Street has created quite a splash in Hillhead's East Village. Building on the success of the two smaller shops in De Courcy's and Great Western Road, Sandy Welch and Sandra Payne have created a 21st Century Treasure Trove at Kelvinbridge - it's fantastic, fun and definitely funky. Even the shop assistants find it exciting - especially when new stock arrives. At present it's full of 'spoiled for choice' Christmas shoppers - struggling in vain to resist buying something for themselves.

Bright and beautiful this is a shop full of temptation including a great range of glorious E. Coudray toiletries, very stylish Alessi kitchen goods (I love that expresso machine) - kitsch cards, candles, bags and gifts galore. Even if everybody you know has everything - it's guaranteed you'll still find a gift for them. There's a great range of t-shirts with 'Fine', 'Oopsy Daisy' and 'Work' all very much in demand. Then for those of you who like to say it with flowers Cath Kidston is your answer - her textile range includes everything from toilet bags through to floral beds for your favourite pet. Or how about Ozzy Osbourne sunglasses - an assorted pack with different colours for every day of the week!

They still have the gorgeous colourful telephones, which I have long admired in the other shops and my new favourites include the delightfully perfumed body oils and the bags with the cowgirl design. The fluffy bags are also adorable and I have already indulged myself in some of the Bloom make up range, which has perfect shades of eye colour cream and nail polish.

You need to go along yourself and enjoy the buzz - bring stacks of cash if you can, however, if you are a bit hard up the designer paper hankies are very affordable. Also on offer you will find Sandy and Sandra's own 'Payne and Ink' range of cards, these have also been snapped up by Selfridge's and Paperchase.

Felix and Oscar is a great asset to the neighbourhood and fittingly situated in the beautiful Caledonian Mansions and conveniently located close to Kelvinbridge Underground.
