Papi Chulo GFT
7 – 10 June, 2019
A terrific Matt Bomer (Magic Mike) gives one of his finest performances to date as Los Angeles TV weatherman Sean. An emotional meltdown on air leads to a lengthy sabbatical. Filling his days with home improvements, he hires Mexican labourer Ernesto (Alejandro Patiño). The two men have little in common but Ernesto’s sympathetic ear is better than therapy and an unlikely friendship develops that starts to change both their lives. A complete charmer of a film that deftly glides from hilarity to heartbreak. GFF19
