In 1977, fresh from the success of Jaws, Steven Spielberg could do no wrong. This follow-up cemented his reputation as a master entertainer. When Roy Neary (Dreyfuss) encounters a UFO on a dark country road, he becomes fascinated with all things paranormal, much to the dismay of his wife and children. Roy’s obsession eventually leads him across the USA to witness the first arrival of extraterrestrials on Earth. As well as being one of the great spectacular cinema experiences, this film offered the relatively groundbreaking perspective that aliens could be peaceful beings rather than war-mongering monsters.

Audiences will also be treated to a short about the making of the film which includes an all new interview with Steven Spielberg.
