Wullie Davidson – Best Bus Pass Trips in Scotland
Glasgow to Fort William (through Glen Coe) 3 hrs 11 mins
The fact that the Glasgow to Fort William bus goes through Glen Coe makes it one of the best trips.

Inverness to Kyle of Lochalsh 2 hrs 8 mins
Inverness to Kyle of Lochalsh, down through the Great Glen, past Urquart castle, then turning right, on to the road to Skye is also very scenic.

Fort William to Oban 1hr 33 mins
I was most impressed by the 1.5 hour trip down Loch Linnhe from Fort William to Oban.

Oban from Pulpit Hill
‘The trip from Fort William to Oban, down Loch Linnhe, had some fantastic scenery, but the flash on my camera reflected back from the bus window, ruining the photos. I hadn’t figured out how to turn it off. Turns out, there’s a tiny button with a lightning bolt on it, and you just press it to disable the flash. Press it again, and the flash comes back on. Couldn’t be simpler, but you still have to learn it.
I might do another trip down Loch Linnhe to Oban next year, but instead of getting the Oban to Glasgow bus, I’ll get the bus that continues south to Lochgilphead and Ardrishaig, then get the Campbeltown bus returning to Glasgow’
I took the train from Fort William to Mallaig, but if I’d taken the bus, that would definitely have made the list. If the timetable permits, I’ll do the Fort William to Mallaig bus trip next year.
