A Woman’s Life, GFT

2 – 4 February, 2018
Adapting the novel by Guy de Maupassant, director Stéphane Brizé (The Measure of a Man) tells the story of Jeanne du Perthuis des Vauds. Following her life between the ages of 18 and 45 in the early 19th century, A Woman’s Life illustrates a hypersensitive woman, overly sheltered and struggling to face the harsh reality of the world. In this haunting, carefully constructed story, Brizé uses stunning cinematography to portray Jeanne’s tormented existence.
