Kevin Allen’s radically surreal and erotic Welsh language film of Dylan Thomas’s Under Milk Wood stars Rhys Ifans and Charlotte Church in the first cinema production of the brilliant, haunting radio play since Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton’s 1972 film. Moving away from a traditional, literal reflection of Thomas’ original work, the film explores some of the more visceral elements of the funny, filthy and magical dreamscape of the work, whilst staying faithful to Dylan Thomas’s original text.
