Scottish National Slam Championships
Saturday, February 13, 2016 – 7:45 PM
Tron Theatre
This is the contest to be Scottish Poetry Slam Champion for the year. And the winner goes to Paris to represent Scotland in The World Series. Slam poetry is a thing of verve, wit, insight and heartache delivered in bite-size turns at the mic. There is no more compelling live event in literature. If you think you’ll give this night a miss you’d better have a good excuse or we’ll be sending the poets round to shout poems through your letterbox!
Format for poets – There will be four heats in the first round. Everyone will have two and a half minutes, one visit to the mic. Eight poets will go into the semi final. Three minute time limit there. Three poets in the final. Three minute time limit. Winner takes the plaudits, the plane to Paris and a tasty morsel of everlasting glory!
