Carlota Pereda’s strikingly bold and ominous debut feature follows Sara (Laura Galán) as she navigates desire, belonging and the distinction between revenge and redemption. Set in the sweltering summertime of rural Spain, Sara carries an extra load of teenage agony due to perpetual bullying. She buries herself in her headphones, drowning out her surroundings before one day, after a particularly brutal bout of abuse at the hands of her bullies, a strange twist of fate occurs that will change her life forever.
