Pat’s fifth week exercising with Paul Rutherford, Personal Trainer.

I’m now on my fifth week going along to get fit with Paul Rutherford, Personal Trainer, Glasgow I’ve been going for two forty minute sessions each week and I’m amazed at how quickly I’ve started to feel much fitter. I’m also pleasantly surprised to find that the exercise regime easier, although, I am doing more and best of all I am not sore.
I thought that because I was exercising that my right knee and thigh, which can give me gyp, would be a problem but the opposite is true and it’s not been bothering me nearly so much. I’ve more or less given up the Ibuprofen and I’ve been walking more. Jim and I went through to Edinburgh during the festival; we walked for ages enjoying all the street entertainment and the many stairs in that hilly city didn’t seem nearly so steep.
On Friday after I’d been to Paul’s gym in Yorkhill I walked up Kelvin Way to Gibson Street to catch up with Jim in Offshore and then I had a mosey around the shops on Great Western Road. Usually that would have done for one day but in the evening I met my nephew Sean and spent three hours in the Tontine Building Glasgow School of Art – up and down stairs and along many corridors – taking in the Graduate Degree Show. I honestly don’t think I could have managed that a few weeks back.
With Paul’s encouragement I am also drinking gallons more water. I am now aiming to develop more good habits on my road to improving my wellbeing. So far so good 🙂
