OPENARIES – Ceramic Arts event for GI festival, Woodlands Garden, 19th April, 2014
OPENARIES – Ceramic Arts event for GI festival
Woodlands Garden
Saturday, April 19 at 4:00pm – 7:00pm
Artists Laura Aldridge and Anna Mayer have designed and built a roving kiln for ceramics out of two oil drums welded together and will be holding three firing events across the city, including this one at Woodlands Garden. Old and new friends alike are invited to gather for performances and ceramic appreciation. Local artists and practitioners are also welcome to contribute a performance or offering. There is an emphasis on sociality and an exploration of how the art making process can be both ritualistic and casual.
So join us for ceramic happenings in the gap site at 127 West Princes Street (next to the Community Garden) and in the garden for some tasty treats and guided garden tours.
