Havana Glasgow Film Festival celebrates the twin cities of Glasgow and Havana through a programme of Cuban film screenings, discussions and joyful cultural events each November.

Highlights

A History of Cuban Animation
Wednesday 15 November 19:00 – 21:15 CCA N/C 15+
A selection of animations made between 1962 – 2022 from ICAIC Animation Studios exploring themes including loneliness, heartbreak, immigration and race. Featuring premieres and shorts from award-winning animators including Ernesto Piñaand Juan Padrón. Followed by Q&A with Cuban guest Ivette Ávila Martín in discussion with Mexican and Scottish animators.

El Mundo de Nelsito / The World of Nelsito (with closed captions)

Nelsito, a 16-year-old autistic boy, runs away from home but is the victim of a car accident. While everyone is worried about him, he records every detail of his imagination, telling us about the dark and hidden side of those around him.
