The Glasgow West End Festival is one of the West End’s cultural highlights (and has been since 1996). An independent event led by director Michael Dale involving music, theatre, dance, comedy, walks and talks. Local individuals and groups also produce their own unique community events.
The programme includes over 400 events in some 80 venues across the west end of Glasgow, with events ranging from music and theatre, to walks, talks and community galas.
This year the festival will run from Friday 31st May to Sunday 30th June, 2013

Sunday 2nd June – now in 9th year
The Gibson Street Gala is now a well established and integral part of the West End Festival. This will be the 9th year of the Gala. As usual we aim to please with great live music, stalls, children’s entertainment, art & design. Closing the road to traffic for one afternoon each year brings a very special family friendly feel to this popular neighbourhood.

Parade Day attracts up to 80,000 revellers to the streets and this will be the first time the Festival has had sufficient funding to close Byres Road for the Parade since 2008. Its return to the heart of the west end is predicted to attract record visitor numbers.
