Glasgow Film Festival 2020: Heroic Losers
29 February and 2 March, 2020
Ricardo Darín is reunited with The Secret In Their Eyes author Eduardo Sacheri and his Chinese Take-Out director Sebastián Borensztein for an irresistible, Robin Hood-style heist caper set in 2001. Darín plays retired footballer Fermin, who is determined to revitalise a sleepy region outside of Buenos Aires, so he persuades his friends and neighbours to invest in a co-operative. Fleeced of their money, they vow to fight back and devise a daring robbery of a secret depository containing their stolen cash and much more. The result is a rousing, smoothly executed crowdpleaser of a film. Thanks to The Film Factory
