First Friday Sing Friday, August 7

First Friday Sing
Friday, August 7
7:00pm – 9:30pm
The Quaker Meeting House, 38 Elmbank Crescent, Glasgow G2 4PS
Join Shapenote Scotland at our regular First Friday S(ing)ing in Glasgow. We’ll sing from the Sacred Harp 1991 Denson Revision, and other sources if you want, and can bring copies…
Using the American songbook called the Sacred Harp, first published in 1844, we do unaccompanied, uninhibited harmony singing for fun, not performance. It’s an uproarious but soothing sound that defies description. No experience is necessary and books will be available to borrow.
This could be the music you’ve been looking for…
NB This First Friday Sing is the last Friday Sing before the All-Day Singing on August 15th – all the more reason to come and give it a try!
(It’s FREE – donations for room hire are invited)
