Filmed in 2015 and 2016 in Glasgow, this new film by Polish artist Karolina Breguła tells the story of a group who travel from a town that no longer exists and inhabit a deserted concrete complex situated in the middle of a vibrant city. However, they soon find this surrogate home is bound for demolition and within this precarious situation they find logic and reality, performing strange repetitive games and routines. The characters are on a tireless search for something that might define and represent their identity. The result is an assortment of unusual objects. Gradually a museum-like collection, built around a fictitious narrative, begins to emerge.
Commissioned by Market Gallery and Glasgow International 2016, a Q&A with filmmaker Karolina Breguła will follow the screening. Tickets are free and will be available on the day from GFT box office (two per person).
