Craft Session: Knitting Circle and Wool Swop
Thursday, 9 October, 2025, 2 p.m. – 4.30 p.m.
Boyd Orr Building, University of Glasgow, University Avenue Glasgow G12 8QW
Come along to this eco-friendly craft session! Make a wool craft of your choice with second hand wool from the Eco-Hub and support from the workshop leader!
How will the session work?
In this workshop you will use second hand wool to start fibre craft projects. This workshop is open to beginners or experienced knitters who would like to make use of the secondhand wool and work in a group environment. Beginners will be taught basic knitting and can start a simple project like a scarf or fingerless gloves. More experienced makers are welcome to continue with a project they are already working on.
Wool donated to the Eco-Hub will be used but if you already have some wool that you are not using, you are welcome to bring it to the workshop to share with others. Knitting needles will be available to use during the workshop. If you already have and would like to bring your own needles to cast onto so you can take them away, this is encouraged.
No experience is needed, just enthusiasm and willingness to learn! Tea and Coffee will be available to purchase on the day for 50p a cup. This workshop is for university staff, students and the wider Glasgow community!
