The Clan, 16 – 22 September, 2016 GFT

A disturbing and intense crime drama from Carancho director.
Friday 16 – Thursday 22 September
Running time: 1h48m
The latest film from the director of Carancho and White Elephant is based on a chilling true story from the early 1980s. The magnificent Guillermo Francella stars as Arquímedes Puccio, the dead-eyed patriarch of a seemingly unremarkable middle-class family: a family who dine together and take pride in their eldest son Alejandro (Peter Lanzani), a star rugby player. They’re also a family who kidnap the wealthy, hold them for ransom and kill them in cold blood. Pablo Trapero’s deeply disturbing crime drama has the swagger and intensity of Scorsese as it captures a nation grappling with the legacy of years of dictatorship.
