Glasgow’s self-styled “Princess of DIY Pop”, Carla J. Easton, released her second solo album, Impossible Stuff, to rapturous acclaim in autumn 2018. Recorded with Arcade Fire/Leonard Cohen producer Howard Bilerman at Montreal’s Hotel2Tango studio (a somewhat grander DIY workshop than previously), it sets her dreamily melodic songs amid splendid Spector-esque layers of brass, strings and analogue synths. “Easton’s maturing sound is intoxicating… essential indie pop” (Louder Than War)
