ARTchitecture is an exhibition that celebrates Glasgow’s building heritage.
Artist Marion Gardyne, a Glaswegian in every sense, is passionate about the rich architectural heritage of the city and has spent many hours taking photographs of iconic buildings with her small digital camera.
She uses these photographs as a stimulus to inspire and create quirky, kaleidoscopic, 3D effect collages that focus on the often unnoticed or overlooked features of buildings. Essentially, Marion brings together key elements of art and design with architecture.
The collages highlight the work of several renowned Scottish architects including Charles Rennie Mackintosh.
Created especially for this exhibition are bespoke collages interpreting The Lighthouse. They feature the internal helical tower staircase, external brick chimney and other architectural detail.
