Kim Jee-woon’s nail biting, cloak and dagger thriller is set at the close of the 1920s, during the Japanese occupation of Korea. Police captain Lee Jung-chool (Song Kang-ho) is under pressure to expose members of the Korean resistance. He concentrates on Kim Woo-jin (Gong Yoo) who is secretly plotting to smuggle explosives from Shanghai into Seoul. As Lee’s sympathies edge towards the resistance, the hunter becomes the hunted in a tale of shifting loyalties, betrayal and vengeance.
