27 January, 2023
Saint Luke’s, 17 Bain Street, Glasgow G40 2JZ
Experience a cocktail of the best afro-fusion, pan-global, and dance-fever music. To celebrate our 30th edition, we’re showcasing Scotland’s best African talents and collaborative world musicians.
The line up includes Rise Kagona, Samba Sene and Diwan, and Chief Chebe and the Glasgow African Balafon Orchestra (GABO).

Don’t miss this afro-fusion pan-global and soul-rejuvenating party.
Rise Kagona is a music legend, founder, lead guitarist and only remaining member of the mega-successful Zimbabwean rock band The Bhundu Boys.
Diwan are an exuberant fusion of funky mbalax and Afrobeat grooves, with undercurrents of ska, rock and Senegalese soul. They play original songs with impassioned vocals, infectious guitar licks and irresistible dance beats. Led by charismatic Senegalese singer Samba Sene, Diwan is a diverse collection of musicians, who share a global outlook and love of West African rhythms. The current core line up is Akin Fatunmbi, Angus Rutherford and Mikey Cameron.
Chief Chebe is an African philosopher, poet storyteller and music teacher.
