Bob Law: Clydebank Walks in Autumn
Walks and Photography
There are several good walks in Clydebank at any time of year but in previous outings I have observed that Clydebank has some terrific autumn colours so here’s a selection and suggestions for walks in the area.

You can get an 11 bus from Gartnavel Hospital to Clydebank and Mountblow. Or train to either Dalmuir Station or Kilpatrick Station. Car drivers can find unobtrusive parking easily enough in the quiet streets beside the park.

Dalmuir Public Park, at the bottom of Mountblow Road is a gem as it climbs a slope with extensive views over Dalmuir, Clydebank, and Erskine. It also has attractive features, like a stream, beautiful mature trees and grassy meadows.

At the end of Liitleholm Place a path between hedgerows leads up through Clydebank Golf Course to the A82 and Goldenhill Park, also a great viewpoint. Around a 2 hour walk for that.

Those wishing a longer walk have several options. Walking along the Forth and Clyde Canal to Old Kilpatrick or Bowling ( train return) or swing up from Old Kilpatrick on foot, via Station Road, under the Erskine Bridge, to a path leading past North Dalnotter Cemetery, and above Clydebank Crematorium to Goldenhill Park. 3 to 5 hours easy pace depending on route and rest breaks. All of it through fantastic varied scenery.
