Merchant City Festival 2016: Glasgow City Heritage Trust, Stone Cutting and Carving Workshops

The Merchant City Festival presents some of the best of Scottish and international art and entertainment with a programme of street arts, music, food and drink, comedy and dance, while at the same time showcasing the unique cultural hub that is the Merchant City. This year, GCHT will host a number of events including workshops, a children’s heritage trail and a film night.
Artist Michelle De Bruin will be starting the GCHT series of stone cutting and carving workshops with an introduction to letter cutting. You’ll learn about the tools and techniques needed to cut stone, draw your own text and then cut the letters out from a block of solid lime
