Honeymoon - His Choice, or Hers?

When it comes to the honeymoon - how do you decide where to go when you both like different things? You love lounging on a beach and he loves golf, you love city shopping he loves country walks. After the wedding - this won't be a problem, as you will be able to dictate where you go on holiday each year - but right now you are still talking to each other and sharing every decision - so how to solve this tricky issue.

If children are in your plans, this might be the only romantic vacation you take together as a couple. If busy careers get in the way you might struggle to find the time for a leisurely honeymoon-like vacation in the future. This could be a problem if you are polar opposites when it comes to what they want out of their honeymoon vacation. Some guys want hiking and lots of sun and sports while their brides just want to relax and soak up the sun - or vice versa!

One solution could be to consider a cruise for your honeymoon. You have to be willing to compromise a bit; some ports that you stop at will suite you, others will suite your new husband. During the time you're docked, you can participate in the activities offered by the locals - such as hiking tours, extreme sports and more mainstream activities like shopping and visiting local galleries and the cultural highlights of the area.

While the ship is at sea, you can lounge by the pool with a good book - while he could be in the pool getting some exercise. In the evening you can both enjoy the fine dining to keep the romance in your honeymoon.

Marriage is all about compromise. The world is too big for any couple to disagree about where to honeymoon. Out of all of the exotic and affordable places on earth, you're bound to find at least one spot that offers something both of you want to experience.
