GFT
Poland, 1990: society is going through fundamental change that brings with it a wealth of new possibilities. This sparks four apparently happy women of different ages to decide that it’s time to change their lives. One of Poland’s most striking contemporary filmmakers, Tomasz Wasilewski brilliantly uses muted colours and subdued production design in this compelling film to capture the women’s pain, loneliness and desire for love and intimacy.
Piercingly sad, strange and unnerving.
