Project Overview
Trees for Climate Action is a project led by Trees for Cities in partnership with the Field Studies Council. This project will take bold new steps to bring people together, creating opportunities for young people (up to 30) to engage with older people that they would not normally meet during their everyday lives. The project will deliver inter-generational, tree-related activities for young people to build their knowledge and learn new skills from environmental professionals and experienced volunteers, mobilising young people to take positive action against climate change.
Trees for Climate Action aims to engage 20,000 young people in two cities across two nations: Bradford and Glasgow.
Free Tree Guides
Registration for free tree guides is open until 30th April 2024. Register here
Thousands of easy-to-use free tree guides are being distributed for people to use and share with others where they live, study, and work, in Bradford and Glasgow. If you’re aged 12-30* or a parent, teacher, employer, or community/faith group leader engaging this age group please register today.
Each tree guide is co-developed with local people and tailored to each city. Each guide is colourful and splash-proof, packed with drawings or photos created by enthusiasts and experts. The guides feature city trails and multiple ways to enjoy trees in Bradford and Glasgow.
As well as two guides in the post, one in spring and another in autumn, successful households or groups will receive ideas by email for finding trees and volunteer and career opportunities to help trees and protect the natural environment.
No experience is needed to use the guides, just curiosity and a keen eye! Group leaders will receive multiple guides to use with other people.
