For the August Queer Cinema Sundays screening, GFT showing the second feature by director Celine Sciamma (Portrait of a Lady on Fire, Petite Maman) which offers a tender exploration of youth and gender identity.
Upon arriving in a new neighbourhood on the outskirts of Paris one summer before school starts, ten-year-old Laure embarks on a journey of gender exploration when a local girl mistakes her for a boy. Deciding not to correct her, Laure plays along, choosing to be known as Mickael to new friends.
