The White Crow GFT
22 – 28 March, 2019
The extraordinary early life and mercurial brilliance of Rudolf Nureyev are the inspiration for a richly atmospheric true-life biography from actor/director Ralph Fiennes. Ukrainian dancer Oleg Ivenko makes an astonishing debut as the young Nureyev. Arriving in Paris in the early 1960s with the Kirov Ballet, Nureyev devours the cultural life of the city and the chance to venture beyond the Iron Curtain. There is no turning back and his plot to defect unfolds against flashbacks that capture his humble beginnings, blazing talent and determination to become a major figure on the world stage.
